What Makes A Home Your Home

Left: Typical size kai caught ; Right: Largest kai caught in Fiji yet!

Earlier in service, I posted a video of what I now call home. Coming into my second year, I thought I would elaborate on what really makes my COMMUNITY, well, my home!

When I think of my small town Korovou, and what is one thing that makes it special, it would have to be the river that separates the town from the living quarters. While not the widest nor longest river in Fiji, this river brings much joy to children, women, and families alike. It is a  place to bathe and cool off during hot season, and will ensure that even on the toughest of months, families will never go hungry. Providing fish, eel, prawns, and mussels, otherwise known as kai in Fijian. Laughs are shared, conversations are had, and memories are made here. And for this reason, this river, adds much meaning to this small town I call home.
